About me

Kate Wood MBACP
Child and Adolescent Counsellor

Hello, I am an empathic and committed Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor.

I am passionate about enabling children and young people to tell their stories, make sense of their inner worlds and develop the capacity for deeply fulfilling relationships.

I call upon a wide range of theoretical concepts, interventions and styles of working, recognising each child as an individual and using the child's natural form of expression, creativity and play to explore their feelings.

Using metaphor, imagery and healing conversations I help children work effectively with their emotional difficulties, which can be unbearable and difficult to understand.

Staying present, attuned and attentive throughout the child’s personal journey,  I am able to hold their discomfort, their sadness and their anger and stay with them in the process.

Relationships form the core of my work.

I offer both short and long term work and each session is 50 minutes long. One-to-one sessions take place weekly. My fee is £50 per session.

I am a professional member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)

I completed a Diploma in Child Counselling at the Institute for Arts in Education in London and I am fully DBS checked
