Supporting children

I offer a calm, open and welcome space in my studios in Thetford, Newmarket and Norwich. Here I can work with your young person creatively using drawing, painting, clay, sand, storytelling, puppets, music or drama to develop a trusting working relationship in which their own narratives can unfold.

Working with body and mind - I use evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help the child work through their difficult feelings, establish good stress regulatory pathways and help develop frontal lobe function. In turn helping them learn, grow in confidence and discover a sense of self.

Some of the reasons a child might need support:

  • ADD/ADHD (attention disorders)

  • Anxiety

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Bullying

  • Challenging behaviour

  • Physical ailments

  • Separation anxiety

  • Selective mutism

  • Self-harm and self-destructive behaviour

  • Sleeping issues

  • Stress

  • Trauma

  • Depression

  • Difficulties at school

  • Family conflict

  • Fear and phobias

  • Friendship issues

  • OCD

  • Oppositional or defiant behaviour

Safety, confidentiality and trust are of utmost importance and I ensure I adhere to all BACP ethical guidelines.

I can also offer support to parents (carers).
